Our story

Started with a simple question: why is it still hot?

Too many Florida property owners get the same answer to a building that won't stay cool: a bigger air conditioner, or another layer of insulation thrown on top of the old stuff. Neither fixes the real problem, which is heat and humid air getting in through worn-out insulation and hidden leaks.

That might be an attic in Brandon, a mobile home underbelly in Zephyrhills or a metal warehouse roof in Tampa. Heat Hunters was built to fix all of them properly: measure first, show you photos of what's really going on, give you a clear price on the day, then let our own crews do the work, test it and clean up.

  • Locally owned and run from Tampa
  • Homes, mobile homes, garages and commercial buildings
  • Measure-first, no-pressure approach

Our team

Real people, not a call center

When you call Heat Hunters, you talk to us. The person who inspects your property is part of the same small team that does the work, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the install.

Our crews are full-time Heat Hunters techs, not subcontractors picked up for the week. They're trained in-house, wear the uniform, and treat your home or building the way they'd want their own treated.

  • In-house crews, zero subcontractors
  • The same team from inspection to clean-up
  • Uniformed, trained Heat Hunters techs
Training & qualifications

Trained hard before they touch your property

Insulation done badly can be worse than none: foam mixed or sprayed wrong, attics sealed shut without thinking about moisture, wiring buried under blown-in. So every Heat Hunters tech goes through hands-on training before they lead a job, and keeps training after.

  • Hands-on spray foam trainingPractised in a controlled booth before ever spraying on a customer's job.
  • Florida building scienceHeat, humidity and moisture, not a cold-climate manual.
  • Ongoing trainingNew products, codes and techniques as the industry moves on.

My family loves how comfy it is in here now! We chose both closed cell and open cell foam for our attic. Now we have a hurricane proof roof and there is way less noise from the planes overhead!

The tech showed up on time, protected the house, and explained each part of the test as we went. Seeing the gauge readings and smoke path at problem spots finally made sense of our high bills. Instead of pushing a one-size-fits-all solution, they gave us a ranked list of actions with clear tradeoffs. We chose a modest first step and monitored our bill for two months. Noticeably lower and the back bedroom is comfortable again. I wish every home service started with this level of measurement and transparency.

We'd had three different companies tell us three different stories. Heat Hunters was the only one that measured our home as a system. The photos and leak metrics made the decision obvious and took the fear out of it. We appreciated how they never tried to push us into anything; they just showed the facts and let us choose. The plan let us phase things in around our budget. The house is cooler with shorter AC run times already.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Why remove old insulation instead of adding more on top?

Old insulation is often flattened, patchy, damp or contaminated with dust and rodent waste. Piling new material on top buries those problems and blocks access to the air leaks underneath. Removing it lets us sanitize, seal the leaks properly, then re-insulate on a clean base, so you get the full benefit of the new insulation.

What happens at the free attic inspection?

A Heat Hunters tech checks your attic, insulation and AC, takes photos of what's up there and walks you through them. You get clear options and same-day pricing. If nothing needs doing, we'll tell you.

What's a blower door and why do your installers use it?

A blower door is a powerful fan fitted into a doorway that depressurizes the house. While it runs, air rushes through every hidden crack, which makes leaks easy for our crew to find and seal. The reading drops as leaks are closed, so we know the air sealing is working.

How long does removal and re-insulation take?

It depends on the size and condition of your attic. You'll get a clear timeline with your quote, and we work around your schedule.

What types of homes do you work on?

Homes with an attic: single-family homes, townhomes, side-by-side duplexes and mobile homes. For businesses, see our commercial spray foam services.
